Due to the success of last year’s sold out event, where the audience laughed and laughed and laughed and continued laughing all the way home; the Polar Bear has definitely been safe, until now. One of the most anticipated events in the entertainment calendar is upon us again! Friends of the Earth’s Laugh or the Polar Bear Gets It 2012 is almost here, the Hammersmith Apollo is ready to be once again filled with the sounds of laughter and thunderous applause.
Eight comedians will be performing to save the Polar Bear. Friends of the Earth work tirelessly to help promote the negative effects of climate change and to help animals such as the Polar Bear whose natural habitats are being destroyed because of it.
The high calibre of acts last year such as Greg Davies, Danny Bhoy, Richard Herring and Tim Minchin together with the audience members helped raise enough money and laughter to go towards their plight for another year.
Tim Minchin said of last year’s show: "This show's titular threat is deadly serious. If you don't come and laugh, we have an actual metaphorical polar bear and it is seriously going to get 'it'. Luckily, we are not worried, because (a) the line-up is excellent, and (b) we don't know what it's a metafor phor."
Line up includes: Ed Byrne, Josh Widdicombe, Francesca Martinez, Stewart Lee, Dan Antopolski, Tony Law, Danny Bhoy, Richard Herring, Vikki Stone plus more big names to follow.
